The First Game was the Gauntlet. This was a kind of maze / obstacle course that all of the robots in the competition had to attempt. The course was filled with ramps, small mazes, springs, spikes and most of all 1 - 3 house robots.
There were three obvious paths to take
starting with a spinning turn table, each suited to different capabilities
of the robots.
Second is the maze root. Basically a wiggly and slow root though a set of metal gates. Time consuming and requiring a small and moveable robot.
Thirdly and unobstructed root except for a line of 1 - 3 house robots.
After that each program has it's own special
game, one of
BIONIC BULLDOGS:
a robotic version of British Bulldogs. All the robots in that program
are lined up at one end of the arena and have to try and get to the other
without being wiped out by one of the four house robots, Dead Metal, Sergeant
Bash, Shunt or Matilda. The last bot across is out.
FOOTBALL: A studded metal football is placed in an circular arena surrounded by angled mesh. A single goal is at one end, guarded by Dead Metal and his massive pincers. The last bot to score is out. (Wedgehog Scored second!!! YEY!)
BALLZ:
A circular mesh arena with 6 goals, one for each bot and 20 or so small
silver balls, each bot has to get as many as possible into it's own goal
, stealing balls from others and hogging as many as possible.
INDYBOT RACING:
A figure of eight track is set up and six bots raced against each other.
The last one to do 3 laps is out.
THE MAZE: A maze with several different paths to take. Some quick but dangerous (full of house robots) others longer but safer. All six competitors are lined up at the start. The one to cover the least distance in 3 minutes is chucked out.
Winner in bold

| Grunt | 82.7 | 15 | 3 | Electric: 2 x 12 v Motors | Wedge Shape |

The Gauntlet:
Kilotron managed 11 meters before being pushed off a ramp and getting stuck on it's side.
BARRY, unfortunately rang up onto the corner of a ramp by mistake, which lifted its wheels off the ground beaching it at only 2.93 meters
Shogun's some what random driving managed to get them 10.96 meters into the course before the controllers spaked out and drove it off the ramp and into the jaws of the house robots, (oh dear Rolls Royce)
Nemesis managed to get up on the first ramp with no problems, zipped though and up onto the second, leaping off at the last moment to avoid Matilda's chain saw tail and completing the course, YEY!
Grunt also managed a fluky run thought
the line of house robots, pushing dead metal out of the was to complete
the course.
So BARRY was illuminated for covering
the least distance. (BOOOO!!) I think it should have been Shogun,
but never mind.
Kilotron managed to last the whole minute due to it's six pneumatic rubber tires providing wads of grip stalling shunt and getting them through to the next round.
Next Roadblock wiped the smile off the producers face by running Shunt off the plinth by getting it's wedge under him, and lifting his wheels off the ground.
SHOCK HORROR! Nemesis also manages to push Shunt out of the arena by jamming it's nasty 6 inch long spikes into his wheels.
Grunt, despite canning everybody in the gauntlet had a bit of a malco attack and drove straight off the plinth in just under 4.12 second, DOH!
Therefore Grunt was illuminated.
The Face Offs:
Roadblock manages to get under Nemesis and bring it's fluffy material cover in to the line of fire of Sergeant bashes flame thrower. The corner of the material caught on fire and continued to burn until the end of the fight when people leapt onto the arena with fire extinguishers! Nemesis, despite being completely un harmed under the fur, was illuminated.
Shogun vs Kilotron:
Shogun had problems from the start due
to one of it's speed controllers burning out before the show and them having
to replace it with an alternative model which didn't quite match the original.
Basically they couldn't make Shogun do anything useful watched it being
axed to death by a slightly more controllable Kilotron
In the first few seconds kilotron managed
to get in a few good hits with it's axe, but with no effect. Road
Block zipped around and went for the kill with it's wedge shape.
Kilotron rode up on the wedge, and after being carried around for a few
seconds, eventually flipped right over to leave Road Block as the winner.

| Dreadnought | 92.6 | 5 | 0 | Electric: 1 x 12 v Starter Motors | Fork Lift |

In the football Wedgehog scores 2nd after a lucky rebound from Cruella leaving Dreadnought, WYSIWYG and cruella to battle it out. Both of them burn out, Dreadnought with smoke and flames, WYSIWYG from sheer exhaustion. Dreadnought is ruled as the winner by the judges as they say it had more contact. I think it should have won due to most impressive burn out.
In the face offs Wedgehog is pitted against Dreadnought. After a fairly convincing charge into Wedgehog from Dreadnought pushing it into a grill, Wedgehog manages to squirm free before Dreadnought starts to bellow smoke and fumes again. Wedgehog goes through. Cruella accidentally falls into a grill after a valiant attempt at tipping Robot the Bruce over, and again gets stranded, STUPID GRILLS! Can't you American people tell Mentorn how to build a proper set.
Semi Final: Wedgehog vs Robot the Bruce. RTB being 4 times the weight of Wedgehog easily pushes it around until it falls in a grill (YAWN). Wedgehog's only hope against the giant clear lexan box was to run it up the Wedge. This failed due to a slow starting left drill which skewed it to the right on the first charge.
Oh well, we'll be back. Wait for
the next one in 99.
